Dog Gone! Scavenger Hunt, 9am-1pm
Join us with your favorite four legged friend for a fun and interactive Dog Gone! Scavenger Hunt. Bring your walking shoes, and your favorite pooper scooper, this scavenger hunt will drive each participant into specific onsite locations, allowing you to walk your dog and have quality time together. The scavenger hunt will test your animal knowledge and give you clues to collect dog treats and toys for your sidekick, all while walking around and exploring Shadyside. Sidewalk Chalk Art with Pro, Amateur & Kid Divisions, 11am-4pm
There will be 3 locations around Shadyside: Filbert Street by Mercurio’s Gelato & Pizza, Ellsworth Avenue at Petagogy & Highland Avenue by Gallery 4. Professional artists will be arranged in advance, amateur and kid chalk artists can also arrange a spot with us via email, email@example.com. Over 30 independent makers will come to Shadyside for a market in 3 locations:
- Main hub: 2-level parking garage behind Salon 5844 on Ellsworth Avenue
- Parklet between American Apparel and Victoria’s Secret on Walnut Street
- In front of Oh Yeah! Coffee & Ice Cream on South Highland Avenue
Monday, July 1st:
Charity Burger Cook Off with Shadyside Restaurants, 6-8pm
Support several local charities and help us determine the best burger in Shadyside! Several local restaurants will participate. Attendees can cast their vote and our guest judges from EatPgh.com will help break any ties. Cost to attend is $15 (kids under 12 are just $5). Tickets will be available in advance from our charity partners or at Journey’s of Life. You will also be able to buy a ticket at the door.

What size is the area I would have to work in?
The areas will differ slightly, but will be about 3ftx4ft.
How long do I have to finish my work?
Chalk art will be going on 11am-4pm, so you have 5 hours.
Who do I pay money to join?
You’ll pay the Shadyside Chamber of Commerce, someone will be there that morning to collect the fees.
Is there a theme?
There isn’t a theme, but we encourage everyone to draw something fun and positive. Anything violent or hateful will be washed away immediately.
What kind of supplies are provided, if you provide them?
We will be providing a couple 48 count boxes of colorful crayola chalk to each location. You’re welcome to bring your own supplies, too. Just make sure it is something that will wash away with water.
Are there any specific rules?
Each artist will only get one area to work in. Artists are not permitted to sell anything in their area.
