What’s New in Shadyside this April

3 Great Events coming up April 26th

We’ve planned three great events to bring visitors to Shadyside on April 26th! The Great Shadyside Yard Sale, The 2nd Annual Bark Shadyside Pup Walk and Redd Up Shadyside will all take place that morning into early afternoon. These events will all be based out of the Liberty School parking lot located at the corner of Ellsworth Avenue and Ivy Street.

Proceeds from the Yard Sale and Pup Walk will benefit the Animal Rescue League. You can register for the 1-mile Pup Walk or sign up to have a space at the Yard Sale by clicking here.

SHOP

Where the Stars Shop

Hey Betty! was recently featured in an article in Marie Claire magazine where they interviewed Chloe Sevigny about her experience living in Pittsburgh while filming the new TV show Those Who Kill. Sevigny said, “Whenever I go to a new city, I always navigate around by going to all the vintage stores. It’s a really good way to find the cool neighborhoods. And to meet like-minded people.”

She lists Hey Betty! as a vintage store with amazing twenties to eighties garments.

Spring Eyewear

Now that spring is here, don’t forget to wear your sunglasses! Did you know that UV light can age your eyes just like it can your skin? Well, it can! And the damage is cumulative over time. UV exposure can lead to premature cataract formation, retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, and discolorations to the conjunctiva. And don’t forget, UV light can also cause wrinkles to the thin delicate skin around the eyelids.  Shadyside Eye Associates is offering 25% off sunglasses to help make it easier to get protected. Enjoy the sunshine!
